Four fashion schools selected for the challenge
Four participating schools, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons The New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and The School of Visual Arts, will each send two teams of five students (one focused on womenswear and the other on menswear) to take part in the day-long challenge.The judging panel includes ready-to-wear designer Steven Alan; editor-in-chief of Lucky Magazine, Eva Chen; fashion industry consultant Julie Gilhart; Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) CEO Steven Kolb; womenswear designer Derek Lam; creative director of VICE Magazine, Annette Lamothe-Ramos; chief creative officer of Amazon Fashion, Dennis Leggett; co-founder of Art + Commerce, Jim Moffat; men’s fashion director of T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Bruce Pask; co-founder and creative director of Milk, Mazdack Rassi; womenswear designer Tracy Reese; photography director of Vogue, Ivan Shaw; and model Elettra Wiedemann.
The winning teams’ images will be featured on Amazon.com/Fashion and each will receive 25,000 dollars for their work and an additional 25,000 dollars for their school, as well as a mentoring session with Steven Kolb, Theory president Andrew Rosen and Amazon Fashion president Cathy Beaudoin.
