In order to bring in the holiday spirit along with holiday shopping deals, womenswear brand Olive and Bette had a unique approach. The company offered discounts for customers who donated past clothing to Housing Works.
The store encouraged shoppers to donate their clothes, which resulted in several clothing donations for Housing Works. The nonprofit organization aims to end homelessness by providing housing, health and a community. In this partnership with the boutique, Olive and Bette chose this organization to support a just cause. “There was so much going on this weekend and so much discounting that we really wanted to give back to our community,” founder Stacey Pecor told WWD. In this endeavor, the stores were successful in having approximately 150 shoppers give back, according to the publication.
Olive and Bette currently retails in four locations in New York. The company started from Pecor with a vision to show of cozy cashmere pieces, city-inspired clothing, and a feminine “candy color” palette. The brand also has a following on its online boutique, oliveandbettes.com. In this partnership with Housing Works, the clothing brand was able to provide discounts as well as give a little back to its local community.
